Motorway Driving
Motorways are different from ordinary roads in that they are designed to ease the flow of traffic and help it flow faster and with greater safety. As a consequence there are greater demands placed on both driver and vehicle.
In relation to the number of accidents that occur Motorways are statistically safer than other roads. Unfortunately accidents do happen and when they do they usually occur at higher speeds and involve more vehicles then on other roads. A result of this is that injuries are more serious â often resulting in the loss of life.
For Motorway driving you will encounter faster moving traffic - which means that conditions change rapidly. Drivers need to be alert and have total concentration.
At IMPACT we have two Motorway driving courses open to all types of drivers:
- A two hour course covering the basics of safe driving on the motorway.
- Three hour courses with a more in depth look at how to stay safe at higher speeds and on the motorways.
Having completed these courses you should consider Advanced Driving or Pass Plus as your next step.
